Ferry service or road form Ormoc, by Biliran on Nov 12, 2013 20:35:50 GMT 8, I'm also interested in travel between Naval and Cebu, I arrive in Cebu on Friday and I will be trying to get to Naval as fast as I can. I'm guessing the Ormoc route might not be a good idea for foreigners at the moment, so I was hoping to be able to get Roble to Naval. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated, maybe some of us could travel together for safety.

Ferry service or road form Ormoc, by Biliran on Nov 13, 2013 13:33:17 GMT 8, NEWS - From Jun Del Rosario Due to no power and communication line in Naval and whole Province of Biliran, banks are closed so other other fund transfer outlets like Western Union, etc. From what I saw on my way to Ormoc, Biliran Province is a lot better. No power and communication yet. Food supplies are available but limited. Damage is severe but not as Ormoc, Tacloban and many parts of Samar as reported in TV. FYI: The road from Naval to Ormoc is passable. There is smart and globe signal with internet connection in Ormoc City proper. No power yet. Some establishments are using generator like where I am now in Pongos Hotel lobby.

Ferry service or road form Ormoc, by carlton on Nov 19, 2013 12:59:53 GMT 8, There is a daily ferry service running from Palompon (nw of Ormoc).
My friends were able to get on a Ceres Liner bus this morning to Palompon, returning after taking relief goods to Naval. It is not a regular service.
From Naval to Palompon took nearly two hours by road. Todays ferry was fully booked so they will stay on the bus overnight and go to Cebu 9am Wednesday. It is a four hour trip to Danao City, Cebu, about 35kms north of Cebu City.

Ferry service or road form Ormoc, by carlton on Nov 20, 2013 14:30:35 GMT 8, Forget about the ferry from Palompon perhaps. Turns out there wasn't one to take the bus, so the bus passengers (35) took a small boat to Bogo City, Cebu. A three hour trip, big waves, very scary so I am told.

Ferry service or road form Ormoc, by carlton on Nov 20, 2013 22:24:19 GMT 8, Ok. Ferry update for today. Tickets were available for Ocean Jet Cebu City to Ormoc, 650 pesos. Also available for Thursday so seems to be no problem getting back to Biliran from Cebu via Ormoc. It would be best to travel early in the day to avoid having to overnight in Ormoc.

Ferry service or road form Ormoc, by carlton on Nov 22, 2013 13:11:53 GMT 8, On Thursday my friends left Cebu City about 7am, arrived in Ormoc around 10am. They were quickly able to find a bus to Naval, two hour trip. everything OK this time for travel
On Ocean Jet they paid a 50 peso surcharge for luggage but no limit they believe. In the shoutbox earlier it was said Supercat were allowing only hand carry so maybe best to try Ocean Jet if you have a lot of luggage.

Ferry service or road form Ormoc, by David Q on Nov 23, 2013 9:08:52 GMT 8, Thanks Daniel for the info on travel between Cebu and Naval via Ormoc. Its a week since your post so hopefully things have improved. My girlfriend travelled to Ormoc and back to Biliran a week ago and if i can get a seat i plan to travel to Biliran via Ormoc in another week's time. But i did see video of long queues of people in Ormoc waiting to buy tickets for fast ferry so i hope that has eased so i can return to Cebu. Any info on travel is appreciated.
