Families denied Red Cross aid, by MDavis on Nov 24, 2013 7:12:42 GMT 8, My wife's sister who lives in Baras Catmon called my wife to request assistance as their entire village has been denied Red Cross aid. Multiple requests for aid to the Red Cross have been turned down. They were told that they had to go through their local mayor or government official. They do not know who this is. It is disgraceful that the poorest families that need help are being denied help. Has anyone else heard of this problem?

Families denied Red Cross aid, by Biliran on Jan 10, 2014 21:58:55 GMT 8, I think the local Government are visiting each Barangay and making lists of the damaged homes and families that really need help. Of course many people here are hoping for aid, but when you see the damage in Tacloban, Ormoc and around Leyte you soon realise that Biliran was very lucky and that most people here really don't need aid.
